The Japanese language is written in a mix of 3 scripts: Kanji, Katakana and Hiragana. We use 2 scripts:
- Katakana: for name translations because it is the script that's used to transliterate words of other languages.
- Kanji: used for phrases (if all words have a Kanji equivalent).
For your name translation we use transliteration (phonetic translation) because many Western names don't have a Japanese equivalent, so the translation you get is pronounced the same as in English.
Translating 1 to 4 names or words costs $17.95. Use the drop down box labeled "Number of Names/Words" to choose the number of words you need. If you have an unusual name or a name that can be pronounced in different ways, use the comment text box to let us know how your name is pronounced.
