Standard Thai (aka Central Thai or Siamese) is the official language of Thailand and is spoken by more than 65 million people.
Some quick facts:
- Consonants are written from the left to the right, vowels come above, below, to the left or to the right of a consonant.
- The Thai alphabet has 44 consonants, 15 vowels and 4 tone marks.
For your name translation we use transliteration (phonetic translation) because many Western names don't have a Thai equivalent, so the translation you get is pronounced the same as in English.
